Welcome to Dose of Reality (formerly known as Mini Edition).  DR is an online magazine with a news commentary format, written from a distinctly conservative Christian perspective.  The news commentary by Joseph Harris is published once to twice a month and  is very brief.  Dose of Reality is published online and in several religious and denominational periodicals and is also sent to subscribers via e-mail.  ME gives brief comments on current events in government, religion, society and the family, from a conservative Biblical perspective.  To read the latest, click on MOST RECENT ARTICLES.

Why Dose of Reality?  A powerful, biased media, together with an anti-Christian television, motion picture and entertainment industry constantly deny and distort truth.  Mini Edition  presents a "dose of reality" in a world where God is ignored, liberal philosophies in government, society and educational institutions are rampant, scriptural error abounds, the fabric of the family is unraveled, and common sense has been abandoned.  All opinions belong expressly to the writer, who seeks to communicate his thoughts with Christian charity, through plain speech, sometimes using the tools of sarcasm and humor.

Joseph Harris is the sole writer of Dose of Reality.  He has been in the ministry since 1982 and pastored for 24 years.  He is also the Vice President of Southeastern Baptist College in Laurel, MS, where he has served on the faculty since 1987.  His writings have been published in the Mississippi Baptist, Sword of the Lord, Pulpit Helps, Arkansas Democrat, and online at Worldnetdaily, New Media Journal, The Conservative JournalThe Land of the Free and many others.  Joseph has also written Sunday School and Christian Growth curriculum for the Baptist Publishing House in Texarkana, TX.  Apart from his ministry work at the college, Joseph teaches through various methods, presenting scripture and Bible principles through a ministry magic program of illusions, speaks to young, middle and senior adult groups with an original program of comedy, song parodies and voice impressions, conducts Christian Education workshops, speaks on the Israeli/Palestinian Issue and provides pulpit supply, averaging over 100 appointments each year.
The Writings of Joseph Harris are based on his beliefs and views and do not necessarily reflect the beliefs and views of Southeastern Baptist College.
